Our Campus

People have been worshiping here at “the bend in the Scotch Road” since 1709! We are proud to be part of what is surely the longest continuously-active entity in Ewing.  Congregational activity began with worship under two oak trees, but over the years, we have added additional land and buildings to our corner of God’s creation.

Currently, our campus entails nearly 60 acres, much of which is land dedicated to use by the cemetery. On this side of Scotch Road, there are several different buildings with various purposes:

  • The Office Building (right), an 1880 Victorian building originally constructed to house our pastor and his family.
  • The Education Building (below), built in the late 1950s to accommodate educational and recreational activities associated with the congregation. The Education Building has the four white pillars at the front entrance, and contains our Worship Space, as well as the classrooms for the Head Start Program, and our education programs for children and adults.
  • The Red and White Building, originally constructed in 1912 to house the Superintendent of the Cemetery, his work and his family, and currently attached to the Education Building via an enclosed hallway or “Breezeway.”
  • The Scout and Quoits Hut, which formerly was the meeting place for a troop of boy scouts, and for a local quoits team to play. Currently it is the location for collecting donations of food and other supplies for families and individuals in need.
  • Across Scotch Road is located the 1867 Sanctuary (right), the fourth building since 1709 constructed for worship on these grounds, built in 1867 in a time of optimism and growth following the Civil War. The building has had various uses since 2007, and is currently available to rent for weddings and memorial services among other uses. Much more information about the 1867 Sanctuary is available at www.1867sanctuary.org.
